Well, It's been a while since I've posted here, and as I have posted in one of my previous tBlog posts, I have become uncomfortable doing so. So, A short update, and then that's it from me. ( at least for now ) ~ My sister in law: She has now had a second PET scan, in in which the cancer "lights-up" to show up, if there is any. The cancer in her lymhdes in her neck was all removed when she had that surgury on her neck ( the last thing I think I mentioned it when I posted about her ), but ~ The area under her toungue and another area either in her shoulder or neck, ( I don't get much of a straight story on this, and it always chanves so please bare with me ), have "lit-up" so to speak, and show there is still cancer in those two areas. I was told that she had a doctors visit "for results" just yesterday, but have not been able to get ahold of her, nor have heard anything in return as of yet. Plese keep her in your prayers if you will. ~ My brother, Captain BlackBeard, and his family are still living with my Mom, and things are going well, though they are looking to sell their old home, and purchase a new one ( preferably something with a bit more room ) ~ Me Mum, She is doing well, as far as can be expected. It is still hard dealing with the loss of me Dad, Captian Nemo, and Holidays and anniversaries are all the more difficult, even as time passes. ~ Captain Nemo ~ Me Dad ~ Still missed, still loved, memories still cherished ~ EVERY day! ( can't believe it is going on four years later this year) ... And some good news ~ Me Mum is steadily working at having Captain Nemo acknowledged for something he started in our town that has changed it for the better, and is now a crowning jewel. Captian Nemo was always very humble in his acomplishments, but we are delighted that he will be getting the acknowledgement that he so richly and greatly deserves. <3 ~ My kiddo and I, along with our family, will be attending a celebration of this acomplishment <3 ~ ...and one more ~ for those of you familiar with my tBlog, blog ~~~ a long time back I blogged about our goldfish...well, I am very sad to say, that they have all, ( from the original group of fishys), passed away. :( They were just beautiful and so calming, and I swear they could have given the fish from Disney's Fantasia a run for their money! ~ on a good note though, we have inherited a goldfish from our neighbor's daughter, and added three more goldfish friends to that tank. ( We'll see how big we can grow 'em! ) ;) ...and with the passing of the last two large goldfish, we now have 14 new fish, ( Guppies and Mollys ), all doing well, and very colorful and vibrant. ...and with that I end my blog ( for now )...I truly apprieciate the true friends I have found here. Your love and kindnesses have been truly send by The Lord, and have helped to get me through some of the hardest times I've known so far in my life. ~ I have had lots of fun here, and it pains me to not be able to blog here. I will check in from time to time, and maybe even comment on some other tblog friend's posts. ( If you have not checked out Nullfactor's photo blog posts yet, do your self a huge favor and do so! ~ A beautiful photo every day!! ) Thank you again to all my tblogging friends that I have made here ~ I will never forget you, and the kindness you have shown to me ~ please Take Care and be well ~ and know that The Lord loves you, and I know He has brought me here to tBlog for a reason. God Bless, and may the wind be always at your back <3
no new news on my SIL ~ she is supposed to get another PET scan to see where things stand for her, but I've heard nothing more as of yet. I did actually get to speak with her again last weekend ( a novelty at this point being she has a friend who "runs things" as it were ~ I sure do miss her ). I usually get my info. about my SIL via my hubby Captain Flint, but he hasn't heard much either since last weekend. oh well...we'll just keep praying.
lots going on in my part of the sea, but I don't feel comfortable posting as much so....wish me luck and say a prayer ~ it truly is apprieciated!
Got to see my SIL last night. Was actually surprised, but pleasently so. So ~ The very day after her surgery, she did get out of the house and went to the grocery store with her friend that she lives with. Capt. Flint, ( her brother, my hubby), saw her and she was doing pretty well, all things concidered, but of course, very sore. So, last night when she stopped by to drop something of for her brother, we all got the chance to visit with her for a short bit. ..... The doctor the did the surgery, told her that he took out 9 lyphnodes....the chart/records said there were 5 lymphnodes, ...and the lab only got 4 lymphnodes ~ out of which are only the smaller ones, and not the one larger one, that most likely the cani date for having the cancer in it. .yep she was/is pissed. ~ and on top of that, where the PET Scan showed that there was cancer under her toungue, (and the female doctor whom she almost went to for surgery, and said that she could feel something), this doctor that ended up doing the surgery, said that he saw nothing there, so he took nothing out. ....So, my SIL will most likely have to have a follow up PET Scan ( I beleive this is pretty standard anyway, to see that they got everything that showed up in the original PET Scan ), to see what is what, and what the next step is. I think her follow up doctors visit is this Friday (tomorrow), but Hey, I could always be wrong, especially as mixed up and confusing as all this has been and all the info. that I have heard. *sigh* Still praying..............
So ~ my SIL ended up having 9 lymphnodes removed in total. The doctor did not however, take out the cancer that is under her toungue. As I understand it, that particular proceedure would have taken alot longer, and they did not see anything that was inflamed. The doctor will go back in and remove that at a later time if necessary. She did well in recovery, and is back home. ....yep she is back home ~ my SIL hates hospitals *HATES* them, so she is usually out of there as soon as she can open her eyes. Evidently she did remind the docotor of this, and he didn't argue with her. I'm just glad the doctor was able to remove what needed to be removed, and we are praying for her recovery, and her future surgeries, if they are still needed.
I want to thank eveyone from the bottom of my heart for praying for my SIL ~ It truly has meant so much to me, and is a great comfort to me, to be able to come here and recieve so much support. I ask that you all also please pray for my SIL's daughter ( our niece ). She is 19 and has an independent spirit, but worries about her Mom much more than she lets on.
My sister in law might be through with her surgery by now ( I hope) I haven't heard anything as of yet, but she was to go in around 8am. for her surgery that was to start at 10pm. ....and also there was yet another change in the story .... the woman doctor/cancer specialist, that does surgeries on lymphnodes in the neck, ( and this was/is a lymphnode that is especially deep ), was going to do the surgery, and my SIL was waiting to hear back from her. The doctor wanted to do another biopsy first, and then do surgery....my SIL did not hear from her, and went to another doctor closer to home ( I "thinK" this is who she originally was seeing ), anyway, he didn't want to do anymore biopsies, (even though the biopsy already taken did not have any lymphnode tissue in it, as whoever took the sample missed it ), and did not want to wait any longer. ...... being my SIL did not hear back ( and yep I'm sure she called to try to reach the doctor ), from the woman doctor, she went ahead with the doctor closer to home ( he does have an excellent reputaion from what I am told ) ... anyway the doc that is closer to home is the one who is performing the surgery today, and will not only be taking out the cancerous lymphnode in her neck, but also the cancer that is under her toungue. .....the clincher??........ the woman specialist doctor JUST got back to her JUST yesterday * the day beofre her surgery* to set up a surgery date for another biopsy. ....and yes, this woman doctor is the one who was acting like it was important and urgent for the lymphnode to come out. ~ yep, I don't get it either. ...oh and if you are confused, so are we ~ who's on first, and why do they all seem to wait so long?!!! and especially when they have already determined that it is in fact cancer ................
I'll update again later when I know more ... thanks for listening
TODAY IS PINK SHIRT DAY!!!! Anti - Bullying movement that encourages support and empowerment for those who are bullied ~ a cause that is near and dear to my heart ~
Please wear your pink shirt today!! and follow this link ~
Forgot to post this earlier and was dealing with fighting off a migraine .....
Got news today that my Sis in Law will be having surgery this coming Friday. This surgery has to do with the lymphnode that is deep in her neck. She is having the surgery done by a specialist, who, as I have been told, has done many of these operations.
Ok, for thsoes who just can not wait ~ there is a fun site where you can find all the info. you want and NEED to know, predict your own winners and even pick up some recipes for your own Oscar parties ( look out Wolfgang! )
Well The Grammys have actually come and gone ~ but ~ The Oscars will be this coming Sunday ...so - to prep for a hopfullly, possibly post on The Oscars ...I'll first try a post on The Grammys. As some of you here on tBlog already know and remember, our dear friend and fellow tBlogger "Bawdy", used to take great delight in his annual posting of The Oscars ~ It was great fun! ...and if his blog is still in the archives of tBlog, I highly recommend taking a look ~ You won't be dissapointed :) ...I think it was the first year after Bawdy passed away, I made an attempt at picking up the Bawdy Oscars post mantel...not an easy task by any means, but I must say, it was fun, and I can only hope that I did Bawdy proud. I have not done the post since that one and only time ~ It's alot of work, and most times my computer rebells ( too much glitter perhaps?? ) well, enough of that ....So....here we go ~
This year was actually pretty good, so we'll see how this goes ~
The Grammys 2012 ~
Firstly, let me say, that there was a very nice tribute, ( including music), to Whitney Houston, as well as to Etta James, and an incredible job done to honor and acknowledge all those who have passed on, in a memoriam, that I think, has been the best one ever done to date. They included grips, directors, conductors, musicians, everyone ~ and as it should be.
LL Cool J did an incredible job as host, and I hope they have him back as host again. ~
Bruno Mars did his best impression of Elivis ~
...and whilst giving a lovely tribute to Etta James along with Bonnie Raitt, Alecia Keys gave her best impression of Grace Jones ~ (either that or Lt. Uhura )
...Most, while "ready for their close-ups" ~
...some ~ were not ~ ( looks like she just rolled out of bed ...well - at least her hair matches her dress...) ~
Hi all - Update on my sister in law ~
So this weekend Capt. Flint ( me hubby ), had a chance to talk with his sister. It seemed to clear up some confusion, if only a bit of it.
Seems she had the biopsy done two fridays ago (I think), and whoever did the biopsy, did not get any part of the lymphnode, even though that is where she has the cancer, ( at least in one of the three places she has it ). - She then went to a specialist, who will be doing a second biopsy, after they realised that no biopsy from said lymphnode was actually gathered, and that it had been missed altogether when the biopsy was done. - I'm not sure when this new/second biopsy will be taking place, but at least it *seems* ( and I use that term loosely at this point), to know what they are doing. ~ I'm guessing after this second biopsy, hopfully more will be known, and the new doctor will know better how to proceed.
~ thank you again, for continued prayer.
Well the update on my sister in law isn't much of one ~ Captain Flint ( my hubby), talked with his sister and her friend who is helping her. From what I understand, they found someone to see her - "the cancer doctor" wanted her to make an appointment with a certain doctor, and when she called, the front desk as it were, said that they could not see her until four months from now. So - "the cancer doctor" called that office and told them that she WILL be seen, and now not later - .....now, I'm not sure if this office is for her to make an appointment for surgery or what. For me, it has been very confusing, because either my sister in law's friend, or my husband, is where I have gotten the news from about all of this, and not first hand from my sister in law - and I'm not sure if my husband talked directly to his sister or not - as her friend seems to be the one running things, and dolling out the info. - That said - my husband did not say if there has been any results from the biopsy that was supposed to take place ( as told to me per sister in law's friend ), the very next day after she called to tell us that my sister in law has cancer again and in three places this time,
So what do I know is that my sister in law ( the one that I've posted about having cancer previously, who had cancer around Summertime last year ), has cancer once again, but this time has it in three different places, including a lymphnode right next to the place where the last operation to remove cancer is. - And it sounds like there IS a doctor that will now be seeing her ( I was told that the doctor that did the operation to remove the previous cancer found last Summer, said they would not touch her because they feel that this newest cancer(s) are not related). Whether or not she ended up having a biopsy of the newest cancers and/or the results ( I'm guessing to find out what type of cancer because they already have confirmed that it is indeed cancer), and whether or not she is having any surgery to remove said cancer, is unknown to me at this point.
Confused??? me too. But I'm praying that the doctors that actually know what they are doing, and are able to help her - will.
thanks for reading - I just wanted to post an update for those who were wondering about it.
about that - A friend of mine posted this and I wholeheartedly agree - and since this is still a "free blog' where people can "freely" express their own opinions - ( especially on their own blog page ) - I thought it appropirete ( as well as the need to ) - express my own feelings -
First - why don't people ( especially those who claim Christianity as what they beleive in ), PRAY for others instead of pointing out any and all flaws real and/or imagined?????? I don't get it - did you personally talk to that person yourself?? or did you hear it via rumour?? - Were you there???? - and even if you were - shouldn't you Pray and reach out and help with prayer and support or should you just point and judge and condem?? - Let those without sin (or flaws for that matter) cast the first stone. - anyway - Here's what my friend posted ----
" People who write horrible things about people with addictions make me sick. I truly hope that they or their family members never experience any kind of addiction. I have personally witnessed family members struggle with addiction and it's no laughing matter. They didn't start it up for fun...it was usually out of desperation to feel better or to deal with something horrible they were going through. Like I said, I have personally witnessed what it can do --it's not funny and NO ONE is above it. "
What has happened is sad, not something to be ridiculed and scoffed at. And no, I'm not trying to gloss over anything. She wasn't a murderer, she didn't steal or mame others. She hurt herself, not others. Yes she had demons to fight, like all of us do, but was working towards a better future, and was excited for what her future held. May Whitney finally be able to rest in peace ~ a peace that she lost sight of, during part of her life here on earth.
- my two ( or three cents) - I get my information from HER words in her last interview, not others, and no you don't need to post any comment at all if you have nothing but criticism to share - and if you want to express your own opinion, that is what YOUR blog page is for. and NO this is not directed towards any one person, it is directed at EVERYONE who is being so damn criticle of someone who is now dead. thanks.
