 Getting into the 90's here....I can't seem to sleep either ...not sure if it's the heat ( it very well could be at that)...
I've been waking up around 4 & 5 am. ( not good), and being awake for a couple of hours and then being able to fall back asleep - I have a hard enought time trying to fall asleep in the first place - and this doesn't help me in trying to get things done round here and taking care of my kiddo during the day... isn't insomnia a wonderful thing??!? ARRRRGH!
 Oh well - at least I'll be up for LadyG's PJ Party! ;)

Speaking of VBS - ( last week my kiddo and I went to it together ), they sing lots of great songs all week long, and one that I just love, I had actually heard before. - When they played it at VBS on a dvd - it was sung by a woman instead of a man - ( the song is originally done by Chris Rice, who has many wonderful songs to his credit ) - I really liked her voice with it - it fit so well with the unforgettable lyrics.

 So..... Hubby, aka Cap'n Hook, (or "CH") went to see a plastic surgeon yesterday - and great news!!!!
- apparently all the other medical folks have been telling him wrong!!!!
....Ummmm - yeah

- And this doctor even said he has talked with the folks in the ER and explained to them the bst way for dealing with these types of wounds and how they want the skin to grow back and not die off - cause if it does - it's too late.

 The plastic surgeon tells him that soaking his thumb in peroxcide is a no-no and so is putting neospirin on it!
the peroxcide dries out the skin and causes it to scab and therefore the skin dies and does not regenerate/regrow.
 It's better to wash the wound with soap and water and then use silver nitrate cream on the wound - it has an antibiotic in it and is very soothing - it also keeps the bandages from sticking to the wound as well. - an added bonus! ;)

 Well, it's been since Saturday and he's doing alright - all things concidered.  - He had lots of pain the first night, and it woke him up around 2am. - He saw his Doc Monday - meds have been adjusted a bit, and he's been able to cut way back on the pain meds now too. - Says he soaked his thumb in peroxcide yesterday for a bit too, and the open wound actually cloed up a bit. He had been cleaning the wound with peroxcide and it helped to get the gause un-stuck ( ew! )
He was in a mood yesterday too, though, ( guess I would be too), but I HAD to get out of the house! - (don't worry, he was fine - probably better for both of us too! ....can't imagine what it will be like when he retires and our youngest kiddo is of on their own - *shudder* - guess I'll have to schedule a cruise around that time!) ;)
 Anyway - went out and ran some errands - and got back late. Cap'ain Hook (CH) seems MUCH better today!

 For anyone who uses a table saw or the like - PLEASE USE THE SAFETY TOOLS WITH IT!


.....well..............My dear hubby was using a table saw yesterday to work on a project ........he ran upstairs - "I CUT MY FINGER! - I CUT MY FINGER!  - he ran into the bathroom and was really bleeding alot ......he held it under running water in the sink, and then drenchedit in peroxcide, while I found towels for him to be able to apply more presure to stopp the bleeding. Thank The Lord the bleeding stopped. He didn't just cut his thumb, he took out a whole chunk! - ( yes - it was a gross as you think it was )

 He went to the emergency room - ( after my mother, who had been on the phone with me, convinced him to do so ) - he wouldn't let me take him, and told me to go run my errand.....( grrrr ).... he left around 1pm, and when he wasn't back home in a few hours, and didn't get a call, I headed out to find him - ( They won't tell you anything over the phone - grrrrr)  - talked to the nice folks at the emergency room, and they took me straight back - they had just taken him in sometime after 4pm.  - ( grrrr ) - ok they were busy - but still - I'm VERY greatful he had some pain meds with him, or he would have been on the ceiling by that time!

 They finally saw him, and he was right about them not being able to stitch him up, as there was nothing to stitch (see - told you - gross! ) - they said it will actually grow back - won't be pretty, but hey - he still has movement!
He will have to miss five days of work ( guess that's one way of doing it - right? ) - and has to have his doc re-dress it in a few days.  He did take a gander at it this morning - as he said the gause bandaging had started slipping off after sleeping - he said it was already starting to "fill - in"...  ( ok - sorry - that's kinda gross too ) - Im so thankful he will be ok!

 This was on his left hand, and he has over the years, had serious injuries to all of his fingers but his little finger - he said he'll have to put a metal sleave over that one! 

 I told him, the new rule from now on, is to slooooow down! - no rushing! ( and that the old rule that he neglected, of using the safety tools, still applies! )

Sadly, Big Brown does not copleate his quest for The Triple Crown...
- actually comes in last, as his jockey says he "had no horse" and lets him slow to take last as something seems wrong with Big Brown...They are saying there is nothing wrong with him externally, "He is not hurt"  - My kiddo who watched it with me says to me, "Mom, it's really hot out, and he was just too hot" - perhaps my kiddo is right ...

 IT is a GORGEOUS day today!!!!!!!!!!
 after the weathermen so accurately predicted that we would get rain all day today, it was a delighful surprise to have sunshine instead!! - (ok, they were right about the rain last night - but YAY!!!!! no rain today!!)
 I went back home after dropping off my kiddo at school, and opened up all the windows ( ok, almost all) - what a GLORIOUS day!!!!! - I'll probably clean up around here though - I did most of my errands yesterday cause of the "impending storm" - lots to do around here anyway, so I'll be plenty busy! - My kiddo has only one more day of school left YAY!!! - it's been an interesting school year, and we are all ready for it to be over!
We've been busy the last two months with family visiting ( one family member is due back this month), and school wrapping up. It's nice to be getting back to our normal routines - even if it means the same ol' - same ol', of laundry and dishes, etc. I think we're going to go for swimming lessons this year for our kiddo, and maybe a few day-trips too.
I'm really looking forward to this Summer and the great weather and the much needed break from all things schoolish!&nb sp;

This is very true! Our government has to be extra careful on these cheap imports from China, especially clothes and foot wear. The Chinese are using some cheap, but very strong chemicals in their manufacturing. Cheap can be expensive, when it causes problems, such as in the following pictures! At the same time, some of these chemicals, may be fatal.
