Man, have *I* got one!

 Well I figured some good news would be good to share... and this is REALLY good news!!!!!

 Lots of you will remember my Goddaughter who had cancer and had it removed, and she wasn't sure if she would be able to have biological children due to that - Well not only is she pregnant, ( I may have mentioned that before), but she just found out at her last doctor's visit, that she is having a girl!!!! - She is so excited, and we are so thrilled that she and her precious baby are doing well! Thank The Lord! And thank you to all of you who prayed for her - It means so very much! :)

 To top it all off, Kiddo's new goldfish, "Mr, Gold", that they won for the first time ever, at the carnival last weekend, passed away last night.

 R.I.P. Mr. Gold

 I thought he was going to have the MRI sometime next week, Turns out that he had it today
 I found out when my Mom called my brother and I and asked us to come to their house
 My Dad has a brain tumour
The Doctor told him
He will see the doctor next Tuesday, and I'm sure they will tell him when they will operate
My Dad thinks they will probably operate next week sometime.

   Update on Captian Nemo:

Surgery - cancelled

Went to see doctor instead of just talking over the phone about what has been going on with eyesight...

Had gone to an "eye doctor" a couple of days before, who said eyeglasses Rx needed no real changes as differences were so slight. Didn't see anything else out of the ordinary.

This Doctor -
  Held up one hand and wiggled fingers while Nemo covered one eye - Doc; "what do you see?" - Nemo; you wiggling your fingers...
 Nemo covers other eye and Doc asks again; "what do you see?" - Nemo; NOTHING!  - NADA! - ZILTCH!

Diagnosis?? - Captain Nemo has a blind spot!!!!!!!!!!!!




 WHAT!?!?!?




Yes, a blind spot, - can't see nothin'!

Next step?

MRI!

 Day three of Kiddo going back to school - the school schedule is already catching up with me - I'm TIIIIRRRRRED! - But, tomorrow is, FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - WOOT! - *and* -- THERE'S NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY EITHER!!!!!!!!!!!! DOUBLE WOOT!   -  (That would be "WOOT! WOOT!" for those of you keeping score at home)

 Ok - Captain Nemo ( me Dad), is supposed to have surgery on his shoulder this Friday right?? - right! - Well just a few days ago, he was in a car accident - hit from behind on the driver's side, while sitting at a light - so, not his fault... Soon after, he started complaining about his vision....now he's saying he is having trouble reading stuff! .... WHAAAAAAAAATT???? - It's like it came on all of a sudden-like ( not the typical - sneaks up on you until you try to read the side of an Rx bottle) - anyway, it seems to be getting progressivly worse, and fast! - He went to the eye doctor today, and got checked out ( he does wear glasses, but they seem to not be doing the job now ) - the eye doc said that his difference in vision is so minute, that he didn't think Captain Nemo should even bother to get a new/stronger prescription - and yes, Captain Nemo did tell the eye doc about the accident ............ummmm, yeah.....they why can't he read and it's getting worse ya big dummy!?! ....... I think he should see a nurosergeon! - and see one BEFORE HIS SURGERY ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ............yep - told Mom ...............she agrees - thing is..she has been suffering with hives for the last two years, and had found someone who was treating her....so far....same old - same old....so she called a very well known hospital to see what they could do .....FINALLY she got an appt. ......yep, you guessed it.....it's for tomorrow!............while captain Nemo will be at home waiting for the call from the hospital about the surgery he is sceduled for on Friday..........He NEEDS to tell them what is going on with him - ( he wll probably just writ down the time of his surgey and when they ask him if he has any questions, he will say, "um - no".....he NEEDS to see the other doc BEFORE he has this surgery!!!!!!!.............................I told Mom to make him a list of questions, and things to tell them when they call from the hospital.....................I have a feeling I'll be meeting his doctor on Friday...and his Doctor might not like me too much before the day is out............

 . 

 Well, day 2 of kiddo being back in school...I'm getting better about it, ( stayed on the comp. all day yesterday to keep my mind off of it - I know, I know - SAP!) - Anyway, Kiddo is doing great!  - A lot of homework though. On the first day, came home with three pages of it! - We're still adjusting from our Summer wake up time, to our school wake up time, so Kiddo got pretty crancky by the time it was lights out! - (ok, yes, so did I ) - But tis morning, on the way to school, Kiddo told me that they were going to come home from school, and take a short break, and then get right to work! - ( normally I let Kiddo have a break when getting home, after six hours at school!) - I am proud of Kiddo's determination.    I'll let you know if things go better today. - Kiddo's teacher seems nice ( YAY!!!!) - but I know there will be harder work this year - and more of it!

 .... Yesterday, after Kiddo got home, and that evening, I worked on cleaning up and organizing our Craft/Art/homework/comput er room, so that it is much more user-friendly for school. - Got books and files and folders organized - ( It sure is easier when you can find what you're looking for! ) - So far so good, but it's going to take some more doing. ...Oh did I mention that I'm a pack-rat?? - Yeah, it's on the list of things to work on! ;)

    This morning, I'm going back at it - working on this room, and getting things cleaned up ( read; throw out clutter!) - I pulled ou a small notebook that came with a set of stationary and to-do list notpads - It is a tri-fold, and has a small notepad on one side, and an address book on the other - I opened up the address side, (thinking I'd put Kiddos new teaher's name in it, along with her emaill address that she sent home...and noticed that under the letter "A", were all "N"s ....I'm thinking - oh great! LOL! - They messed up, and put the letter "N" under the "A" section.......turns out the letter "N" is on every page.....along with a little icon of an envelope, ( for address), and a little icon of a telephone, ( for phone number)..........

 Well, Captian Nemo, (me Dad), goes in for surgery this Friday... Looks like he tore some ligaments in his shoulder - and something to do with his rotator cuff, and the ligaments having slipped off his shoulder - all together now - OUUUCH!  -  ( I posted about it earlier)  ...We'll find out the time, on the day before the surgery - nothing like finding out the day before, so you can make plans to be there! ( yessss I knowww - and he can get bumped too if there turns out to be someone that comes in with an injury more urgent than he has  - actually don't think I'd mind him getting his surgery bumped - how about postponing it till next year??!? )

 The Bridal Shower went really well this past weekend. Great food, great people, ...great gifts too!
   Everyone had a wonderful time, especially the Bride-to-be! :)
I was happy it went so well, but also glad it's over - LOTS more to do before the wedding! *WHEW!*

 Yesterday went along MUCH better than the day before - MUCH! -

 I actually ventured out to the stores once again...To Micheal's Craft Store this time... I was on the hunt for some tan pearl beads, to make a comb for my hair, that would match my earrings and bracelet that go with the outfit I'm wearing for the wedding, - no luck, but that's ok, - I had already talked with my one sis-in-law about sending my bracelet to her, to see what she could find - ( she has a bead shop near her, and had made me a necklace and bracelet with grey pearl beads, so I'm hoping she can find something) - anyway...we ( little kiddo and I), went over to the bridal/wedding section of the store, to look at their hair combs, ( found nothing really), and spotted the favors - oh crap! - I had forgotten that I need to give favors to all the guests that are coming to the Bridal shower this weekend! - sooooo - we decide to check out the clearance shelves - they had mini mason jar candles! - for .40 cents! - and - the sent is of coconut and lime! - Perfect, because the Bride and Groom will be honeymooning at a tropical location! - Then we found some ribbon with teal and dark brown polka dots on it -  (the wedding invitations are teal with dark brown details on them - so again, a perfect solution!) - Got them home last night, sanded the tops of the metal lids, painted them a bright teal, and then painted two intertwining hearts in white - took the old ribbons off, and put the new ribbons on and WA-LA! shower favors! :D - I also found a few other things for gifts fo the Bride, so that worked out too. :) - Then it was onto the next store, ( I try to get a few things done each day, and it saves on gas when the stores are near each other )... 

     So, we went to Staples, to return some school supplies that we had found A LOT cheaper at the dollar store! ( Gotta love the dollar store!) - that went fine - then over to my folk's house, where we are going to have the shower, to help clean and set things up. - We stayed til it was dusk, and went back home, where we worked on the candles like I mentioned before, and also just rested and took it easy.

 - Today on the agenda, is to make a list and check it twice for shopping tomorrow - It will be a food run tomorrow, to pick up all the goodies - Like mini queashes,(sp?), and fruit for cutting up, and the like. Then back to my folk's house to get anything done that hasn't been done, cleaning up etc. and then decorating and setting out the punch bowl, and things like that. 

 The day before yesterday was really stressful, but it's getting better - I know that part of it is the stress that has come with wanting things to be just right for my stepson, and daughter in law to be. - There is already some underlying stress for them in their respective families, and I just want to make things as stress free for them as possible...There are also things going on in my hubby's family, and I know that a constant in the back of my mind is that my own Dad has to have surgery on the 29th of this month, which is the following friday........*sigh* - I guess it all just piled up on me, and got to me - But it's always something, so I just have to suck it up an keep on going! ARRRRRRRRRRR!

 Well what a crappy day yesterday was! - The bridal shower is this weeknd, and family members said they would help. - Most have stepped up to the plate, but one, who said they "would bring several things", -  and made a point to tell me that, - is only bringing/making, one thing - ok, two things if you count the thing they will be buying from the store, that virtually needs no prep. - This person should be a major player - and my point - WHY make it a point to say you are going to bring several things, and only bring minimal???????? - I see favoritism in this, and it isn't pretty. - OH! , and not only that, but that person isn't even making said contribution, another family mamber is - ummmmm...yeah
 - So - There is a phone call in the morning, and the mention is made of this, and of course it sets me off and sets the tone for the whole day. 

 We set out to ge some things done, and to return the one dress that I am not going to wear, ( picked the black skirt and chocolate brown top). - I get there and that part does go smoothly,...which is good, cause this particular store has just recently made th announcement that they are closing down, so I was crossing my fingers that they would still take the dress back - they did :) ... - We move on...

 Off to the next store, to find "the perfect shower gift".  Well...we get there, I had checked the store's website the night before, and again that morning, and chose something really nice, and have the item #, etc. with me....we look....no item.....we go to the customer service, and print out the registry list to see if we can find something else - nothing looks that great to me - especially since I'm one of the parents, I would like to get something a little nicer than a cutting board or a soap dish. - The list prints out, and two pages get stuck - nice - anyway, we get them, and like I said - slim pickins - so, I opt to get the gift I was going to get, that is a larger set ( read, more pieces). - get a few other items while we are in the store, and go to the check out.

 - As I lift the box ( gift), up so the cashier can ring it up, something inside moves...I hadn't noticed this before then....so, I ask if the box can be opened so I can take a look inside, just to be sure nothing is broken or damaged. - (This store is pretty far from my home, and I really don't feel like making the trip back, let alone have the time for it at this point. - and no, there was no time before now either). - The cashier is very nice, and calls to someone to ask if it is possible to open said box - (I'm thinking, why wouldn't it be, but whatever), this other person comes to the register and does open the box, but all the while doing so, he comments about they pack it really well, they've never had a problem before, and shooting me these looks the whole time - I say , yes, I have the same item at home myself, but when something moved, I thought it best to just take a peek and be sure everything was fine - he then pulls diferent pieces out and shows me they are fine ( which I can already see, I just wanted the box opened and to look in, but whatever) - and then he turns to me an says, if you can give me a minute, I can go and get some tape and can tape it back up - like I'm being indignant about having to wait or something - this guy is total attitude - anyway - I look at him and say well yes ( I'm thinking well DUH you &**@) - then I mumble something about him being rude - but loud enough the he can hear it cause at this point I have had enough of his attitude - and he does -

 Well - then it's a total change in attitude - even his voice changed tone and - ohhh did you think that I was being rude????? um YES! - I just said don't worry about it, it's fine - I just want him to go away and let me make my purchace - then he presses me for what he did, I explain (*rolling my eyes to myself now and just wanting to get the heck out of dodge*) - I again say it's fine, don't worry about it, lets just get this done - he goes and gets the tape and comes back and tapes up the box - if he said anything more I don't recall it, cause by then I'm looking for my credit card and can't find it - yeah- just what I needed -

  the cashier is very sweet and asks me if I want a gift receipt for the item, and I say yes, and it starts.....I can't find my card anywhere, and have to start pulling things out of my purse - (I had just had my card and used it at the previous store too, when I returned the dress) - I'm mortified and the waterworks start - I try to hold it all back, but I'm topped out by this point and just can't  do it. - I finally find my card, hand it to the chaier, head down the whole time, and again she is very sweet, says she hopes I have a good day, and I put my card back into my purse, and make a point of thanking her before I leave and telling her how nice she is.....we go to the car - we leave - we go home - I go lay down, - I never do get much sleep.

 I thought today would start off better,... - I talk to my mother on the phone - I had been waiting for her call - Her house is more roomy, so she offered that we could have the shower at her house, and we are going to go over and help her today. - I start telling her about something she asked about, and she cuts me off, with , well I need to go - ummmm.....I just say Ok, love you, bye, and hang up the phone.  

   This is going to be one fah-reakin' long day............................. P(

'The money goes to Heath's daughter

Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law have donated their earnings from new movie The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus to Heath Ledger's daughter Matilda.

The actors - who replaced Heath following his death from an accidental prescription drugs overdose in January - wanted to give their money to Heath's two-year-old child with actress Michelle Williams to ensure she has a secure future.

The movie's director Terry Gilliam said: "The three actors were totally heroic coming in. This doesn't happen very often - where there's a tragedy like this, and very famous, very successful actors suddenly say, 'OK, we'll do whatever it takes to help.'

"They came, they did the work, they allowed the movie to be finished, they didn't take money - the money goes to Heath's daughter. That's extraordinary!

"I am so glad these guys are so humble. That's why they make a great addition to the film. It will be bittersweet seeing this movie knowing he was filming it only days before he died. This picture still hurts to see because as we all know he did die a couple of days after this picture was taken. My thoughts will always be with Heath."

Johnny, Colin and Jude will all play Heath's character Tony as he is transported into three separate dimensions, which he accesses via a paranormal mirror belonging to a travelling theatre troupe.

 Well got the news about my Dad's pending shoulder surgery - he went and saw the doc today ( Mom went with ) -
 Mom said - (via IM )

 Hmmm me sleep schedule is all a wacked! - Able to get to sleep at 2am usually - and up LATE - but was able to get to sleep earlier the night before last, and then get up around 7am. yesterday mornin' - Last night - again not able to get to sleep till late - but up this mornin' at 5am. ( Ok the cat throwing up a hairball in the hallway woke me up - but still)  - and now I can't get back to sleep - ARRRRRGH! -  WAY too much on my mind - (and my to-do list)
Oh, and about dreaming?? - more like nightmares of all kinds of crap - not sure where it's coming from....
- stress, it does a body good -
NOT!


Gotta get this figured out beforeschool starts back up fer me youngest too!  blah
 I hate it that "Summer" is almost over - ALREADY! - sheesh ! :( .
