 So -

*Captain Nemo continues with chemo and radiation treatments and seems to be doing well with them so far - although no real change or improvement in his vision right now ( hoping for that to improve with the shrinking of the tumor - guess we'll see)

*Cousin and Captain Nemo's bother are coming for a visit in a couple weeks or so...

*Sis-in-law 1A has an operation tomorrow, (Monday), and is still waiting on the results of the biopsy done on her neck ( they say a two week wait )

*Sis-in-law 1B just went back home to TX, (she was here for the wedding), to a home hit by ike - not hit as badly as her neighbors, but plenty bad! - roof tiles came off, and water poured in through the light fixtures and down the walls - they will have to replace their floors ( their neighbors all flooded up past their first floors )

*Cousin MC doing much better

*Brother's kiddo is better now

*Captain Hook's Grandmother still in rehabilitaion center (?), (I have not heard if she is home yet or not - of course we are usually the last to know)

* And I keep forgetting to mention that I got to see my goddaughter at the wedding, and she looked great - but - her Mom told me that there is another spot in her uterous, ( looks like it might be cancerous also), and so they might take the baby in early December instead of January when the baby is due - That should be good, being that it is only one month before the baby is due.

From weddings to radiation, it's been a crazy week and weekend ...

 The wedding was beautiful indeed, but ( and there always is one isn't there?), I could have done without the statement form the mog who insisted i remember a lie and because I didn't want there to be some "drama in the parking lot", I just agreed to it even though it wasn't true - that, and the fact that the Bride was standing directly in front of me when it happened - um, yeah, I'm gonna be the one to ruin and/or cause more stress than you already have, to what is supposed to be a happy and beautiful day?? (Think again lady) - NOT!

 Captain Nemo continues to do well ... in fact our family, Captain, Nemo, Mum, Captain Flint ( me brother), and meself, PirateGirl, went out for dinner afterwords! - Yeah! - I know! ...I'm glad he ( Captain Nemo), is doing  so well right now, but I know eventually these drugs, (even though they are supposed to help), are going to wear at him.
It's tough and getting harder to deal with, I hope I can be strong for him and for my family. - of course as I type that, The Holy Spirit remindes me that it is through God's strength that I will be able to be strong for them.

 The flowers were white and pink stargazer lillies,
The boquet was white roses and pink stargazer lillies,
 The cake was dark chocolate,
with a bright pink ribbon running around each layer,
and pink stargazer lillies as the topper.

The Bride and the Groom danced their first dance simply gloriously,
and madeGrandmom and Granddad, ( my Mom and Dad) proud,
as they had given them lessons in the fine art of swing dancing. :)

 Ok, Mateys - I found this fun idea on another website, and have adjusted it to go with our format here on tblog -

 If you would like to participate in the "tblog member spotlight" post yer name in this thread.  First come first serve.. we'll just go in order of posts.   

A new spotlight will be posted each week.  A set of 10 questions will be asked right off the bat and a request to post a pic of yourself on your own personal tblog page, with the post title, "tblog member spotlight", and your name, ( of course post a pic of yourself only if you are comfortable in doing so).   First - Captain Nemo - ...went to radiation doctor Thursday and got things set up - he will go in next week and get his mask made and then will start his treatments on Sept. 22 - ( after my son's wedding), they will be there for 1/2 an hour but will not have the treatment for that entire time - I'm not sure how long the actual treatment is. Captian Nemo will have to go for five days a week, and for six weeks. After the radiation treatments then he will have chemo treatments. Captin Nemo went to see the chemo doctor today, but I didn't get all the details, other than he is to be on some sort of medication.

 Next - Last night I was in the E.R. from about 5pm until midnight - My sis-in-law, who is also dealing with some health issues and a pending surgery next week, had a reaction to the antibiotics that the surgeon put her on. - internal bleeding and fever - a result of the antibiotic killing off all the good bacteria in her body - way to go doc -
 At least now she's doing better than she was last night. She has another appt. I'm taking her to tomorrow for something else.

 Fishies - I am happy to report that all the fishies have made it through the week!

 THE Wedding!!!! DON-DON-DA!!!!!......it next Saturday - NEXT Saturday! ........got my hair appt set up, need to get shoes for kiddo, and a hair barret for me - and need to call a few folks apparently, cause I have not gotten any r.s.v.p.-s  from those I sent a rehearsal dinner invite to - ( what's up with that?) -  I need a head count for the restaurant!

 Yes, Captain Nemo is now sporting an swanky eye patch - ( ok it's a cheap one for now, cause he's just trying it out to see if it helps him with his balance - but I did cut off the "made in china" tag that was on it - *sheesh*)

 Captain Nemo's friend, crew member "Mr. G", brought the Captain an eye patch when he came to visit - He shared with us that his own Dad had had problems with one of his eyes and it also threw off his balance, and he was bumping into things around the house - but when he tried out an eye patch, it helped so much so that he was able to get around fine, with his balance nearly restored - the body and mind are incredibly made!

 So - Captain Nemo will have his first visit with the doctor that does the chemo ( sorry been spelling that wrong, - I'm on a bit of a learnin' curve with all of this), on this Friday - I'm not sure if he will have any treatments that day, or if he is just meeting to have a consult -

 - I'm thinkin' I'll be gittin' eyepatches fer all of me family - fer solidarity - ARRRRRRR!

 Well let's see - Dad, ( Captian Nemo),  has his appt. witht he doctor about kemo this Friday, then next Tuesday he gets the staples out of his head from his biopsy last week Friday, than next Wednesday he goes in for radiation....My sis-in-law is also to have a proceedure done next Wednesday -

 Crincklebine passed away - (Not sure if I mentioned this already), so wewent back and got some more fishies - four to be exact, and one is "Little Memorial", another is "Tie-dye", "Calico", and "Little Calico" - they came home with us just a few days ago and just last night we discovered that "Little Calico" passed away .... maybe we should start getting our fishies elsewhere :(

 Captain Nemo is doing ok, but his vision and memory are gettin worse - I'm praying thatGod's answer will be to heal him and give him back quality of life.

 The big wedding is in the 20th of this month - It will be good to be together with friends and family :)

 Hi All - We're getting a little bit of "Hurican Hannah" here so I did want to post an update on my Dad but I'll be making it breif for now...

.......My Dad had the bi-opsy done yesterday .they still have to send it off to the lab, but the brain surgeon talked to Mom and me, and said that it looks to be cancer ( kind of expected that it might be), and that they will not operate cause it is interwoven into the good brain cells - ( didn't expect that), So they will do kemo and radiation.  I guess that's the gist of what I know so far - oh and that he will be on steroids for swelling of the brain, since they did the bi-opsy, and meds for seizures too since that could happen cause of the bi-opsy

Dad's regular doc had already set up an appointment with an oncologist for the 12th - so Dad will see that doc then -

 life sucks ............... :P

 Haven't updated a post about Mr. Gold - The Gold fish....

 Well we had a little burial and service for Mr. Gold the day we dicovered him floating. :(
....and decided last weekend to go out and get another fishy :) - we ended up getting two fishys - it's always better to have a friend! ;)  - Their names are "Memorial" (cause we got him over the Memorial weekend), and Crinklebine.

 Memorial is fairly large, and is white with a deep gold/orange spot along his top. - And Crinklebine is a smaller goldfish - gold/orange in color and has a small fan tail. 
- We got some "stress coat" that should help, ( and has so far), and some fishy medicine that another customer reccomended - just in case ;)

 - We also picked up a new filter that came with a decoration for the tank -
 It is a Dr. Suess landscape with a doorway, and a hill with two trees, and The Cat in The Hat, holding his umbrella in the air and compleate with Crinklebine himself, in his fishbowl, balanced atop of The cat's umbrella! -

 We had a 10 gallon tank that we put everything into, and so far - so good!
The fishys are eating well ( almost TOO well), but we feed them only one pinch twice a day :)
 We also set the tank up in kiddo's room, and that has been something that has worked out well too.

 So, so far...all is well in the land of fishys....and even that cat is leaving them alone! ;)

Hello all - well, here's the "scoop" on Captain Nemo...

 This Friday - EARLY in the morning - he will be having a biopsy done.

 There is a mass, that the brain surgeon pointed out

 They will shave a small part of Captain Nemo's head, then the biopsy will be done with a needle
( how all that works I'm not sure)

 Then Captain Nemo has to wait for 3 to 4 days or the results

 Then they will go from there with what to do next, depnding on what they find.

 ( At this point, they cannot tell if it is cancerous or not, and will not know until they get the results from the biopsy back )

 Oh, and Captain Nemo had to get the "O.K." from his heart surgeon, who did his triple bi-pass surgery two years ago - He gave Captain Nemo the green light.

 . 

 Well, Captian Nemo's appt. with the brain surgeon is today - in the afternoon. - Once I hear from me Mum, I'll be sure to post what's going on... thanks for all the prayers and well-wishes everyone! :)

 - The rest of this story is that Captian Nemo and I aren't really speaking...I was "Daddy's little girl" ( the only girl he has actually), until I was older, and things changed. - Oh, he is nice to me and even talks with me and all, and it's all great, as long as we keep the subject to - the weather, or a project that one of us is working on...that sort of thing - but most of the time we argue...( guess we're too much alike - although he wouldn't want to hear that!) ;) He is often, what my brother termed as "agressive" (*NOT physically only verbally, - even though that is still bad enough) - ( Captain Nemo's brother is too from what my cousin tells me), - he can get VERY sarcastic.

- When we were called to the house last Friday, he begame very verbally agressive - my bro called him on it and he relented when bro said we are here because we LOVE you and we care! - anyway, my bro left and Captain Nemo was being sweet and filling one of my car tires that was low - ( he will do that sort of thig for me) - I mentioned somthing that Captain Hook had said about tires, ( not that I didn't think that Nemo knew what he was doing ( and yes I know he is more sensitive to that right now)), and Capt. Nemo retorted with, "Well I don't want to get into an argument" um...excuse me???!! I don't know a thing about cars, ( Captain Hook used to ork on them for a living), and I'm only stating what he had said - what do I know??! and I CERTAINLY am not trying to start something!!

 ....then a little later, Capt. Nemo, Mum and I were standing together talking, ....Nemo moved away after a while, and was standing off to the side, and obviously talking to himself about something - ( I was figuring he was figuring out something for a project or something like that, that he is always working on) - Mum and I both said oh, Captain is figuring out something over there! - and  asked "Hey Dad, what ya figuring?" ( I thought it was just a simple question, just making conversation with me dad...boy was I wrong!) ...I got in return...."Oh ok, first I'm going to have to answer that question, and then I'll have to answer 50 more questions!..."  Me:"..Um, no...just asking what you're figuring, you looked like you were figuring something...." Capt, Nemo: "well that's it exactly, first I answer that question, then you'll ask me 50 more"... me:. "um..Oh, ok Dad, then I just wont ask anything at all" Capt. Nemo: "ok!"....I gave him a kiss on the cheek, turned to my Mum, ( she didn't seem to hear what was going on, and had been looking at her garden while this played out), I kissed her too and said goodbye, and left. - No fanfare, no lingering, (like I ususally do) - no, nothing except a simple wave when I left - what did Captian Nemo do you ask??....he smiled and waved and acted like nothing had happened at all...........

 I decided that for the rest of the weekend ( remember, that was Friday), I would just lay low, and wait for them (Captain Nemo and Mum), to contact me, and I thought it best if I did not contact them...
Ok, YES - I know that most of Captain Nemo's attitude was more about the fact that he is scared of what is going on with him, and his impending surgery, ( my cousin said that my Uncle was acting the same way before his surgery a couple of years ago) - but - I also know the long history between Captain Nemo and myself....and it ain't pretty...
So, I figured that cooling off a bit for both of us and just dealing with the news in our own ways would be best for a little while.....

 Then Monday - (yesterday), I get a call from Mum - nope, not about Captian Nemo, although we did talk some and I aked her how Captain Nemo was doing - and I did explain to her too about why I left the way I did ( she probably had figured I was just upset at the news and didn't realise what all had happened - athough - I could be wrong about that)

 So -Mum had called me about a set of keys that were hers that she had left at our home, and that she needed right away, ( someone else in the family needed to borrow one of the keys, and needed it that evening) - anyway, while we were talking on the phone, the person who needed the key, arrived at their house to pick them up, ( arriving alot earlier than Mum had thought they would) - so I jumped in the car, and headed over to my folks house with said keys in hand... ( and yes I was also thinking that maybe enough time had passed that Captain Nemo and I could start fresh and forget what had happened on Friday) - I get there and the person's car is no where to be seen - I go inside and no one is around..I'm thinking ok - yeah - some kind of emergency this is.... I go to the back of the house, and Captain Nemo is there, and spots me before I have a chance to say hello or anything - he stands up and says "Hello!&qu ot;, in a nice cheery way - I said hello, and that I had some keys for Mum and that she said it was urgent....he started - (dripping with sarcasm) - "well! - then! - we need to take care of that right away! - I know I probably should have kept my mouth shut, but I just couldn't help myself, I can't stand being talked to that way, and out it came ( I can't deal with his sarcasm right now anyway) - I firmly said to him as he rushed past me to find Mum..."Please don't talk to me that way" - he says  in return to me..." I can't talk to you in *any* (sort) of way!" ......Mum has come downstairs during all of this - Capt. Nemo goes back to where he had been sitting, walking quickly past me, and I hand the keys to Mum, and say I thought this was urgent? and where is the person who was going to be pcking this up? You said they were here? - Mum says - Oh that person had to run to the store ( it was right nearby) anyway, and so they said they would run their errand and then come back. ... We started to go outside...and I turned back around and went over to Captain Nemo ( he is actually in another room), and said to him - "I *do* have *one* thing I'l like to say to you... I leaned over and kissed him on the forehead and said to him - I hope you do well tomorrow at your doctors appt. - Nemo said "oh, ok" ............I left

 ...I went outside, got in my car, and Mum and I talked some - I told her what happened - I told her I realise that he is afraid and that that is part of why he is acting this way....but that I also know that he is just always this way with me - I said I thought things would be diferent - he had actually asked me to help him with something last week when he knew there was something going on with his vision - I told Mum that I don't want to make him even more mad - and that I feel it will be best if I just stop talking with him right now - I feel it will just make things more stressful and get him more aggitated and more aggressive - I told her I will definitely be there for her and whatever she needed - and that I *want* to be there for him - but he is pushing me away and pushing me away very hard, so that I would just stay clear and not add to the stress. Oh well, at least he's being nice to my brother and to my Mother right now...and they will be there for him too....

 - Yes I will be there when he has his operation - he can't keep me away in that sence - I don't know if I will say much more to him than "I love you Daddy", but Its better if I don't say alot more than that .......I'll probably take our kiddo with me to the hospital too - ( even thoguh I have heard many good reports about this type of operation in the last few days, and I am so appriciative of them, you still never know ) - so - we will go and tell him we love him and say our goodbyes - just in case - and we will wait, and we will pray, - and we will put it all into God's hands ...I also pray that God will give me the strength I am definitely going to need.......

And look! I'm even on me ship! - ok, It's me smaller power boat that I's uses te tool around in when i needs te git to a parrrrty quick!  AHOY! ;D
