Photobucket - Ok - well maybe it wern't exactly a Nor'easter - but it sure felt like one! - We had turrential rains and lots of wind! - the sky an sea - she was mighty furious! - Lots of folks actually flooded in our area from it. - We did too. Luckily the water stayed low in our basement, (although it did go clear from one side to thee other!) - and ye ol' sump-pump stopped momentarily till me first mate could clear out the pipes in the dry well, from all sorts of pollen, and seeds! - then she started up again, all purty like - Ayyye, what a sound! - Nothin' like the comfertin' sound o' yer sump-pump a-workin'!  Our neighbor wern't so fotunate as we ....with water up to their ankles ( yes, really!), they were a bailing in the wee hours o' the mornin' til the rain subsided enough that it wern't comin' back in by the bucket full!
I hear tell that the docks were up to the top in water too - what a sight that must-a been! - harkens back to the last hurrican what tore through town, shutting everything down, and settin' boats up on the road! - The lights near the shoppin' center, did go out, and thar be those who be in charge, all over the place, tryin' te direct traffic ( yeah - that's a job I would want! :P) - Well, all's well today me Hearties, with the sun peekin' out from behind white fluffy clouds, and most of the tree limbs picked up.

- Ayye - It coulda been much worse!

Scarr-eeee! Gotta love them sump pumps. Us on the westside have no idea what the heck a sump pump is. Must be a good little sucker to remove any and all unwanted standing water. :O

having lost a house to a flood. they pretty much suck. and the mess. omG. LOL. i miss the pictures the most. and we didn't even live near, it was the freakin sewers that backed up into the cellar drain that got us. 7 feet of water in the cellar later..the house was pretty much ruined.

i am glad you just got a bit of water, and glad you are all okay. sorry about the abrupt comment, i was a wee bit busy with DH's crises :(. Surgery tomorrow at noon thirty!!

oh. and we are gettin the same damn storm today....

- No, no - I didn't take what you said as ubrupt at all - I figured you must have had some flodding before from your comment, but wow!
- My DH's Grandmother had the septic back up in her house through a basement bathroom - my DH said arund here, it's cause lots of people illegally hook their sump-pumps into the city sewer systems and then the system can't handle all the excess water

I'll be saying a prayer for your DH - and for you too :)
